HOW TO CREATE A RUBATO PIANO INTRO PDF DOWNLOAD

Creating an intro at the piano – piece of cake! The intro can be as simple as playing a V7 chord and rolling or arpeggiating the notes before the song begins. Or, an intro could be built around a simple progression that has a melodic line in the top notes.

In this video we will explore a basic 3-step process for devising a very workable intro. The first step will be to devise a short chord progression that helps lead the ear to the first chord and melody notes of the song.  Secondly, you’ll want to make sure you are able to create solid/stable/interesting voicings for each chord – correct notes and voicing that sound strong.  Then third, you will add a simple melodic line in the top notes of the chord voicings, creating a smooth continuity within your chord progression.

In this video we’ll also take a look at how your voicing can be expanded  in a variety of ways by adding  passing notes, broken chords, reharmonization, and more.

Thanks very much to the person who requested this session!! Don’t forget the PDF Download above!
