One of the Europe’s leading choral/jazz conductors, educators, and publishers is Matthias Becker (Germany). For the last 30 years he has been a major influential advocate for vocal jazz. Although uncommon in the US, Europe thrives with community vocal groups. These are small vocal ensembles, or choirs, that are not connected with any institutions and meet regularly to rehearse and perform, for FUN. (Who would have thought!?)
